Progressives as Fascists

Questioning their messiah and Fuhrer, Barack Obama, may be a felony. See the video below.

Never mind that Chris Matthews himself referred to the "Bush Regime," and never mind that progressives used to sport bumper stickers in favor of regime change at home. It's now sedition -- a felony.

I've heard NPR ask whether Sarah Palin isn't advocating violence because after the health care bills passed she told supporters to "reload." Chris Matthews has said the Republicans are like the Khmer Rouge, engaging in a "re-education" campaign. Frank Rich in New York Times lambasted the entire opposition to the health care bills as "racist," and followed with a second editorial praising Obama's messiah-like qualities.

What's going on here? This is worse than Bush's "If you aren't with us, you're against us," because it's seriously being promoted by the mainstream media that mere disagreement is possibly felonious.

America's Progressives: moving towards fascism at an alarming rate.

Comments:
Yes, the fascist movement arose out of American Progressivism. See the article: "Liberal Progressive Muggers."

Once again, you make a very valid point. But when liberal political narratives fall that low, do we have to follow that path? I am confident that people who share your views will prevail anyhow. NV

So the political narratives advanced by liberals and progressives are shown to be as ridiculous as those advanced by conservatives? Is this supposed to be "news" to anyone?

Christian: thanks for your note. Facism and progressivism have a common root, not quite the same thing... but the end result is the same.

NV: Are you suggesting that by pointing out the implications of leftist narratives I am following their low path? I disagree -- I'm not crying "fascist" as an epithet -- I'm trying to warn about a real threat. There won't be brown shirts marching and saluting, that's not the America style -- but those things are simply trappings of Europe's style of fascism, not the essence of the system. We are institutionalizing the essence, and I'm trying to sound an admittedly feeble alarm.

Anonymous: it is certainly news to anyone who diligently follows NYT and other MSM, and nothing else.

Thanks to all of you for your comments.
